MAGALÍ DATZIRA – Musicalista

AN INTENSE, URGENT, CONTEMPORARY VOICE

Magalí Datzira is a young double bassist, singer, and composer from Barcelona. With extensive stage experience (Andrea Motis, Rita Payés, Christina Rosenvinge...), she draws inspiration from a wide range of influences, spanning funk to electronic pop, intimate Mediterranean sounds, and urban rhythms. Her musical universe fully takes shape through an intense, urgent, and contemporary voice.

After introducing her debut solo album, “Des de la cuina” (2023), Magalí Datzira returns with “La salut i la bellesa“, a healing album that delves into a deeply personal journey. In this work, Magalí explores the themes of emptiness and renewal, sadness, paranoia, and the everyday struggles we face. She reflects on the stages of love but, above all, on self-care, being cared for, and the vital role of friendship in our hyperconnected world.

In this new venture, Magalí is joined by Vernat (guitars and backing vocals), David Gimeno (drums), Toni Mora (piano and keyboards), and Iscle Datzira (saxophones). Recorded almost entirely live, the album features vocal cameos from Mr. J. Medeiros (La salut i la bellesa) and Marco Castello (Merèixer), along with several tracks enriched by string arrangements.
